Increasing Distance
Over the past couple of runs I have learned something. My pace has been way too fast. I have been playing with the Nike+ Website and reviewing the two Challanges that I have entered. Many people have their profiles set to Public which allows me to view the distances and their average pace. When comparing to mine, they are running farther but at a much slower pace. So yesterday I set my goal at 4.5 miles and slowed my pace. I typically run an 8:30 mile, on average. I bumped that pace to 8:52 and easily ran 4.5 miles. So I am skipping running today and in the morning going after 6.25 miles. If I stick to that distace for a week or two and focus on increasing my pace back to 8:30 per mile I should be doing good. I will then increase distance again and work on pace for the next week. I'm developing my own training routine I think! Maybe I'll write a book! :-)
