Houston Five Mile Park to Park Run

This race was well organized. Just about all our family who could be there were there! Sarah, Jeff and myself competed. Kelly, Russ and Maria came to support us. We all did much better than we thought we would do. I finished 9th in my bracket (237th overall) with a time of 40 minutes, 50 seconds, or 8.10 minutes per mile. That beat my previous 5-mile race in the Woodlands by more than a minute. This was Jeff's first five mile race. He finished in 29th place in his bracket (267th overall) in 42 minutes, 29 seconds or 8.28 minutes/mile. It appears there were about 670 participants. Sarah's time was nmot posted. We do not yet know why. She did finish and ran the entire distance.

It was a great day for our family. My son-in-law raced in off road cycle competition and we went to support him in Conroe. The mud which resulted from recent rains made the course very treacherous.
