Run in nature - Woodlands new trail
I took an opportunity this past week to run in the new preserve which officially opens in February. A trail has been built from an old logging road in a low area along a small creek feeder for Spring Creek. This is a two mile circle trail that starts and ends on Flintridge just west of N. Rush Haven. There is a sign on Flintridge indicating the trail head. The trail was a little wet at the end, at the lowest spot, where the trail will intersect with the George Mitchell Preserve on the Montgomery side of the larger Spring Creek preserve and park project. I felt quite isolated and realized the tremendous size of the park that is being developed there. This new public area is very natural and will be a very welcome addition to our amenities here in The Woodlands. One can walk or run in this and enjoy the birds, the solemnity and the foliage. I will publish an extensive article on this soon in the parks section of The Woodlands Commentary.
